Needed Repair

God is working in amazing ways here at AMOR, and it seems like we can see His hand in everything we are doing.  What a blessing it has been to be a part of it all.  Now, we are calling on our friends to help us in this really important moment in our ministry.

Lori Repair 2

As part of our goal to maintain a growing relationship and consistent report with the ministers in each mission field, we are having our field coordinators, Pastor Pedro and Luiza, visit each field periodically in our trusted vessel, the AMOR Lori.  She will also serve as a explorer boat, to visit new areas, as it is more fuel efficient and is able to go deeper than the AMOR Beatriz.

Because we were not able to financially maintain the Lori, along with a few years without using her consistently, she has taken a beating over time.  We are asking if you feel called to help our ministry continue the work God has placed in our hearts, that you contribute to the cause.

Our goal is to raise $8,700 to fund the complete repair of the Lori and allow Pedro and Luiza to make their first few trips into the mission fields!  If you feel led to contribute any amount to this cause and help us spread the kingdom of God through the Amazon Valley, there are two ways you can contribute.

Our Rock

“My Rock, his work is perfect, for all his ways are justice.  God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and upright is he.” Deuteronomy 32:4

This picture was taken by a family member in the land where my grandparents live in Minas Gerais, Brasil.  A land shaped by God’s hand himself, where I had the privilege to visit many times as a young kid, and now it is where I get to spend most of my down-time from traveling.

This verse is part of the song Moses spoke to all the assembly of Israel.  The message was more of a warning than a word of encouragement.

Moses had led Israel away from slavery in Egypt up to the banks of the Jordan, where Israel would continue, without Moses, to the land God had promised his people.  This song was a warning to the people, to remember the great things God had done in their favor, and would continue to do unless they stopped obeying His commands.

This was a call to remember the things past, to keep them grounded in the present, and always looking forward to the future.

What Jesus did on the cross should always be on our minds.  Remembering what God did in the past gives us joy in our present and hope for our future.

A beautiful thing about this verse is how many attributes of God are contained in it.  He is Perfect. Faithful. Just. Upright.

He is our Rock.

A Prayer For Healing

“O LORD my God, I cried to you for help, and you have healed me.” Psalm 30:2

Please join us in prayer for the people of the Wai-Wai Indian Nation. A widespread illness has stricken many of our friends in the village of Inaja.

This is mainly due to the water rising drastically in the rainy season.  The rain flushes whatever is on land to the rivers, that turns into a doorway to many diseases.  These communities have no access to treated water.

Though this is a prayer request for the Wai-Wais specifically, this is a problem that strikes all needy communities along the Amazon River Valley that do not have treated water.

May the one true Healer take control, and rid this community from illness.

To the praise of His glory.
